“Staycation” 2013 With A Little Robert Mondavi

With all the things going on in our little family right now, good and, well, not so good, Walt and I decided that we didn’t want to be too far from home so we made the decision to do another week of “Staycation” this year and be close to family and home.

We kicked off our official “Staycation” yesterday (Sunday) on our patio with a great steak, a tasty salad and delicious bottle of wine.

Our wine of choice last night…Meritage by Robert Mondavi.  Meritage (pronounced like “heritage” with an “m”) is a wonderful blend of black cherry, blackberry and plum.  This wine is long on flavor with a nice spicy, dry finish.  It’s definitely on our list to serve again.

This is going to be a week of family, friends, good food and of course, new recipes!  I like these “staycations!”
